Wild blueberries!
In early autumn, there is a special incentive for hiking -- wild blueberries and huckleberries. They were plentiful when I hiked the Park Butte Trail on Mt Baker in early September. Schriebers Meadow is reputed to be a top-notch spot for wild berries, and it did not disappoint. The views of Mt Baker were magnificent as well.
